Personally, I think Keira Knightly deserves the fame she has achieved. To me, she seems like a very grounded, self-actualized woman. She’s a far cry from the tabloid-courting silicone-stuffed blondes that desperately beg for our attention at the expense of their dignity, and she has chosen roles which reflect that difference. (Elizabeth Bennet immediately comes to mind, and her character in Pirates of the Carribean was much more than a simple damsel in distress.) She said publicly that she recognizes that fame can last only a matter of seconds in today’s industry, and she seems to be okay with that notion. “People lose interest in faces because new ones come along every second,” she was quoted in Warden’s article. “I’m one at the moment.
